RYAN WOOD
Owner and Therapist
I love my job for two reasons. I am inspired by peoples’ physical aspirations and I want to help them succeed. As an avid cyclist, sporadic ultra-distance runner, rock climber and a crazy-year-in-college ballet student, I continually make my body do some hard work. All that effort has taught me a lot about the human body and athletic mindset. I utilize those experiences alongside my training to create fully-rounded therapeutic treatments.
I received my education from the London School of Sports Massage in the UK and obtained a BTEC Level 5 diploma in Remedial Soft Tissue Therapy & Sports Massage Therapy under Mel Cash, a leading authority on the subject. Additionally, I am currently in my final year of physiotherapy school at the European School of Physiotherapy in Amsterdam and I hope to graduate in the summer of 2025.
Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a structural engineer in the United States and lived in Chicago and Los Angeles. I now live in Rotterdam with my wife Kalin, who is a professional contemporary dancer. We feel so welcomed by the city and are excited to be living in the Netherlands for the foreseeable future.
My Work in Professional Cycling
Starting in 2019, I achieved my goal of working with the best cyclists in the world. I was given the opportunity to join Team Sunweb (now Team DSM) as a soigneur. This exciting and challenging job has taking me to numerous cities across Europe and North America and allowed me to work at the most prestigious races the world of cycling has to offer. Now in my third season, I could not imagine a better way to spend my time outside of treating my own clients.
